Job Description -
Position Overview: Run production and development web coating equipment to produce electrodes for MEAS which are used in fuel cell assemblies.

Primary Job Functions
o Operate production and development web coating equipment to produce coated electrodes for MEA assembly.
oFormulate and filter coating inks.
oLoad and unload uncoated and finished rolls.
oMonitor and clean equipment as required.
oEnter raw materials consumed and completed rolls from work tickets into MAS200.
oFollow SOPs and react to QC testing results.

Secondary Job Functions

oPerform test on new prototype material and structures.
oPerform experiments to improve quality and output of coating equipment.
oMonitor and perform wastewater disposal operations.

All functions must be performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all procedures and regulatory requirements. Incumbents will be expected to wear appropriate PPE as defined by a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Minimum Requirements

High School education or GED
At least 3-5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing work environment.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment/machine problems and perform basic preventative maintenance.
Ability to follow procedures and direction exactly.
Ability to interface with PLCs.
A working knowledge of the mechanics & operation of different types of process equipment (e.g. pumps, valves, agitators, instrumentation, controls etc.)
Good communication skills with the ability to interact with all team members and Site management.
Team player with demonstrated ability to work as members of high performance team.
Ability to make decisions relative to product quality.
Ability to multi-task and monitor/control a number of different activites simultaneously.
Ability and willingness to participate in product improvement activity.
A basic understanding and awareness of chemicals and their nature, hazards, safety and health issues.
Ability and willingness to work shifts, overtime and weekends as required.

Physical Requirements

Physical strength is required to operate manual process equipment which includes the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs to perform job functions.

Preferred skills:

A basic knowledge of computers to enter data into computer databases & a basic knowledge of the MS Windows operation system with the ability to work with Excel spreadsheets.
Familiarity with DCS or PLC control systems.
Previous experience in a chemical plant
Previous web coating experience
Understanding of an ISO 9001:2000 system
