Description
The successful candidate for this position will have significant responsibility for supporting our chemicals businesses in achieving their sales and marketing goals through the planning, execution and measurement of external and internal marketing communications programs in North America.
-Support brand management of Corporate brand, promoting the theme of "Helping Make Products Better" in all vehicles
-Work with Regional Business Unit (RBU) to create communications objectives, strategies and plans; includes recommendation of communications tactics to deliver optimal visibility of strategic messages to key customers and decision-makers
-Research, develop, execute and measure marketing communications including advertising, public relations, internet, direct marketing and other vehicles
-Coordinate all business unit media interview and activities in cooperation with corporate and business unit colleagues; includes creation of media guide with talking points/Q&A
-Support customer event management (coordinate with Trade Shows and Events)
-Implement e-marketing strategies and messages in the business portals
-Develop promotion concepts for use with key business customers
-Write, edit and seek placement for business stories for BASF Today
-Contribute to writing and publishing brochures and case studies


Qualifications

BA or BS degree Marketing, Communications or related field, and at least 8 years experience in marketing communications field.

Demonstrated ability to write effective news releases/brochures, to interact effectively with the media and to create effective advertising
Proven knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, the fine chemicals business, particularly pharmaceutical ingredients, cosmetic ingredients and human and animal nutrition. Experience in managing outside agencies and vendors. Exceptional written, verbal, analytic and presentation skills, strong project management skills, an self-starter with the ability to establish and meet deadlines, to work effectively under pressure and to handle a heavy workload. Results-driven, creative, focus on continuous improvement, and a team player with a personal reputation for integrity and "above reproach" ethics. Knowledge of basic chemistry a plus, experience with a foreign culture or firm, a plus.
