Duties: Description
The Risk Analyst will be a key member of the team and report to a Director within the Risk Management team. The Risk Analysts primary responsibilities will be ensuring the quality, consistency and timeliness of largely automated data-input processes and in maintaining and monitoring the quality of databases containing holdings, pricing, and securities data. Day to day duties will include manager portfolio processing, data validation and some analysis and monitoring of data. Adherence to business schedules is critical. Coordination with other members of the Risk department and liaison with the IT Department are key elements of this position. The analyst is expected to have an excellent knowledge of financial instruments, associated risk factors and hedge fund strategies. Risk analysis offers a unique opportunity to combine interests and skills in multiple fields such as finance, economics and mathematics as well as prominent involvement and contribution to BAAs core functions.
Skills: Requirements
The successful candidate should possess strong independent learning skills, be adept in financial mathematics, and possess a desire to learn about sophisticated financial instruments and hedge fund strategies. Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) or similar software is a must; some familiarity with databases is highly desirable. A four-year college degree is required, with a Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering or Economics degree being strongly preferred. Experience in finance or within an investment management firm is preferred. Strong, effective communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable. Location: Seattle.
The successful candidate(s) will also possess the following:
 0-2 years experience prior experience in data processing with exposure to large volumes of complex business data.
 Completion of, or a desire to complete, the CFA program.
 The ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm.
